UAAP 74 Update: Adamson strikes FEU, 78-59

Adamson University crushed last year’s runner-up Far Eastern University in the final period and came back with blistering offense en route to a big 78-59 triumph in the 74th UAAP Men’s basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum Saturday.

It can be recalled that the Tamaraws got defeated by the Eagles in UAAP's Season opening, to a close 55-51. Watch out for more updates as the competition on the ring heats up.

UP Film Institute thesis bags bronze at Bangkok filmfest

Ricochet, an undergraduate thesis project of UP Film Institute student Chad Angelic Cabigon, grabbed the envied Bronze Award at the 2nd Bangkok International Student Film Festival in Bangkok, Thailand recently.

’Ricochet is a 17-minute short film which depicts the story of a man realizing the unforeseen consequences of a murder he did. The film stars Joem Bascon, Jamieson Tracy Lee, and Juan Miguel Severo.

Cabigon is both writer and director of the film, with Joenathann Alandy as producer. 

Cabigon’s film was also screened at the 2nd West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival. It also won awards for directing and editing (for Cabigon and Jerome Morales) at the 8th Indie Un-Film, Ateneo Video Open 12 and the 7th PWU Art Film Festival.

UAAP Season 74: UP wins over UE, UST defeats NU

Here are some updates on the ongoing UAAP Season 74 Basketball Tournament.

The UST Growling Tigers scratches the NU Bulldogs, tallying 73-72, a one point win by overtime in Thursday's first game. Point guard Jeric Fortuna led the team with 23 points, 19 of which were in the second half and 6 in overtime.

The UP Fighting Maroons successfully broke their losing streak via a flaming win over the UE Red Warriors, putting a 69-61 end score. Mike Gamboa had 19 points in the game which is UP's first win ever after almost 2 years!

UP's last basketball win in the UAAP was against the DLSU Green Archers, 83-78, at The Arena in San Juan City back in August 22, 2009.

SPOTTED: One More Chance Facebook Version

I found this video from a friend-of-mine's friend's friend's post. It's amazing how the video maker created a teaser-like video of box-office romantic movie One More Chance, so pleasing to the eye, especially when it incorporated some of the best lines with a Facebook-inspired editing. A very, very innovative way of video editing! Kudos to imarc7!
